At the heart of the Vercors Regional Natural Park, located at an altitude of 1050m, Villard de Lans extends up the Grande Moucherolle (2285m high). Villard de Lans was an Olympic site in 1968 and has expanded its international reputation with Carole Montillet winning the gold medal for the Olympics in 2002.
